I am really excited to feature the property, El Palacito Secreto, as it is one of my favorite places that we have visited. While we have done many Airbnb’s in Mérida, this one really stands out as I haven’t seen this kind of Architecture up close and personal before. I really felt like a Royal Queen staying here.
Waking up in the mornings I was able to shower with the provided shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Curling my hair was a nice treat. On the island the salty air and humidity make it almost pointless to put in the effort. I put on a robe with the signature “P” you will see throughout the property and sat out on the balcony at the bistro table to read a book as my husband had a cup of coffee. We watched the personal Chef setup for the morning breakfast. We were the only guests this morning so it was even more private than a normal day for us. With over 8 luxury suites it would be the perfect place for a larger group to rent out for a Wedding party. Being that our visit was in September and can be pretty quiet in itself they were also getting ready to close for a few weeks to clean the pool. We were lucky enough to be the last guests.
We took a short walk over to the outdoor covered dining area where we were greeted with the yummiest mini pastries. I had a few and then headed for the fresh fruit and juice to snack on while I waited for my breakfast omelette to be prepared.
Since El Palacito Secreto is located in Centro Historico Mérida I was in a hurry to see and do all of my favorite things. I forgot to take a picture of my vegetarian omelette, bummer, as it was delicious and included in the stay!
Only a 10 minute walk to Paseo de Montejo, one of our favorite streets in Mérida, I was anxious to get some Kombucha from Posheria. A cute shop we visited on our first trip to Mérida. I did a separate blog post if you want to read more about that you can check it out here.
I am not going to go into detail about the rest of our day as this is really just to give you a glimpse of the property. El Palacito Secreto is the perfect place to sleep, eat breakfast and then explore Mérida. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. I couldn’t be happier with our stay! If you want to see more pictures or to book your stay here for a much needed vacation after this Covid-19 pandemic you can find one of the 8 luxury suites here.
This is the gorgeous night time view of the pool area. We had a lot of fun at night hanging by the pool and taking some fun pics. This property is great for making memories and experiencing the French Architecture and Authentic Antique furnishings that were a huge part of
Mérida in the 19th century.
Keep your eye out for future posts on other favorite things to see and do in Mérida. If you don’t have an Airbnb account you can sign up here to receive $55 off of your first trip! I hope I have intrigued you with a few pictures from our stay. I can’t wait to travel again and I hope you are all staying safe!
